NNA - A security source revealed to Reuters that the Israeli strike, which targeted, on Monday, the Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital, Damascus, resulted in the killing of the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

Iranian state television confirmed that "the Israeli raid on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus was a targeted attack to assassinate the senior commander of the Quds Force, Mohammad Reza Zahedi."
