NNA - The Tele Liban employees' union held an urgent meeting Thursday headed by Nada Saliba Shweiri, and issued by the end of the meeting a statement in which the union's complained about not paying the employees' salaries on time.
"The delayed salaries' phenomenon is happening by the end of every month, which is causing heavier burdens on the employees' shoulders, especially amid this dreadful economic situation."
"Accordingly, we call on all the officials to work on providing our paychecks and abiding by the salaries' payment date, by the end of each month," the statement read.
"Faced with this deteriorating situation, in the absence of actions to put an end to this issue (...) the union announced that if the salaries were not paid before next Monday, it would resort to a series of escalatory steps, the first being a strike on Tuesday, November 5," the Tele Liban employees announced, calling on fellows to commit to this strike and launch a loud cry that could maybe reach the concerned officials.
