NNA - The caretaker Minister of Finance Mohammad Safadi announced that Lebanon is expecting from the countries that participated in the meetings of Washington upon the invitation of the World Bank, to take practical action to support the Lebanese government by lessening the burdens of economic and social consequence due to receiving more than a million and a half displaced Syrians.
He said, during his meeting with the Special Coordinator of the United Nations Derek Plumbly, that "Lebanon is preparing for the upcoming meeting early next month for countries that have expressed their willingness to provide support and which have a clear plan of action that identifies the priorities and costs."
He urged the United Nations to assist Lebanon in putting the international community before its responsibilities.
Safadi had also met this morning with the Ambassador of the Netherlands Esther Samson who came on a protocol visit with talks featuring high on the affairs of displaced Syrians.
