NNA - Maronite bishops on Wednesday held their monthly meeting in Bkerke, chaired by Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Al-Rahi. Discussions reportedly touched on ecclesiastical and national issues, concluding with a statement read by Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Antoine Awkar. 

Key points included a call for lawmakers to elect a unifying president, the enforcement of UN Resolution 1701 in southern Lebanon, and hopes for Syria's reconstruction based on unity and justice.

The bishops also urged Lebanon’s movement toward positive neutrality, and offered holiday wishes to all Lebanese, praying for peace, justice, and the end of conflicts in Lebanon and the region.
