NNA - Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member, MP Ali Fayyad stressed in an interview with the Voice of the People radio on Wednesday the necessity of setting a map to start a national project to counter the threat posed by Takfiri groups that grow and multiply in countries experiencing internal conflicts.
The Deputy said this project required suitable local and regional conditions that start with forming an all-embracing government and by reviving the work of the constitutional institutions.
Fayyad added that the terrorist bombings in Beirut's Southern Suburbs claimed the lives of innocent civilians, "yet this will not discourage our resolve or alter our general political path."
"Our presence in Syria is a precaution so that our country won't be invaded by those [Takfiris]," he asserted.
On a different note, Fayyad said the Geneva II Conference would not have significant outcomes, adding that "the withdrawal of Iran's invitation is enough evidence that a political solution to the Syrian crisis is not ready yet."
