Mikati condemns blast, calls all parties to dialogue to meet critical situation

NNA - Prime Minister Najib Mikati called upon all parties to replace their shared condemnations at these critical moments by rushing to dialogue to meet these difficult circumstances and grave dangers.

Mikati's words came in a statement on Tuesday in which he said that "words cannot describe the pain that we feel towards the painful scenes shown by the heinous crime" that has rocked Beirut Southern Suburb, calling upon all the Lebanese to cooperate to rise from this crises.

Mikati had previously headed a meeting to the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Unit today (Tuesday) afternoon.

Following the meeting, a statement was issued that said that they discussed the repercussions of Haret Hareik blast today which claimed the lives of four citizens and wounded more than 30 persons.

Mikati asked DRM unit to take the appropriate measures to help the damaged and requested from the Higher Relief Committee to immediately inspect the damages.

Mikati met with the U.S.A. ambassador to Lebanon David Hale.

He also met with his Deputy, Samir Moukabel, who said that talks tackled the subject of Naameh dumpster and the on ground possible solutions which could not be realized within a month or two except if a replacement to the said dumpster was found within a certain period of time.

He added that they also discussed a number of pending issues and studied the possibility of solving them before cabinet formation to avoid going back, over these issues, to the zero square.

Commenting on the possibility of cabinet formation soon, Moukabel said that the new cabinet should see light within two days or three; otherwise, the President of the Republic would take the appropriate decision over that.

Separately, Mikati welcomed an Australian Parliamentary delegation who thanked the Premier and the Lebanese state on shouldering the responsibility towards the displaced Syrians.
