NNA - Lebanese Forces Political Party Member, MP Antoine Zahra, stressed Sunday that March 14th is a national, popular, sovereign movement in which none of its members can solely adopt decisions on its behalf.
"The only project that March 14th Forces are attached to is that of building the Lebanese State, without excluding any party or side," added Zahra, speaking in an interview to "MTV" Station earlier Sunday.
Zahra went on to consider that whoever assassinated Prime Minister Rafic Hariri expected that the truth would never be unveiled, due to the use of techniques to mislead the investigation. "However, the logic of escaping punishment no longer prevails in Lebanon," stressed Zahra.
"Hezbollah has refused to acknowledge any breach between its ranks; and hence, if it becomes evident that the defendants were actually involved in Hariri's assassination, that would imply that the Party is responsible," Zahra stated. He added, herein, that, "the Special Tribunal for Lebanon has kicked-off and nothing can stop its work, whereby it is bound to reveal the truth and condemn whoever is guilty."
Zahra went on to highlight the Lebanese Forces' commitment to unity within March 14th. Nevertheless, he pointed out that, "if some members agree to participate in a government lacking certain guarantees, namely respecting the Baabda Declaration and abandoning the 'people, army, resistance' trilogy, then the Party shall not partake in said government."
Zahra reiterated, once again, that the Lebanese Forces aims at having political guarantees regarding the role of Hezbollah and its illegitimacy, as well as refraining from legitimizing the presence of "armed groups" outside the State's framework.
