NNA - UN peace envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, on Monday said that the Geneva II Conference ought to consist of all parties who have interest in Syria and have influence on its affairs.



Brahimi was in Baghdad on a regional tour to discuss ending Syria's war.



During a press conference he held following his meeting with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari, he said that it was of the Syrian people's interest to have everyone meet around a sole purpose to help them build their new state, instead of fighting.



"The international community was tardy in supporting the Syrian people," he noted.



Brahimi hoped that the Geneva II Conference would be held in November.
