NNA - A phone call took place on Saturday between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during which they exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).

President Erdoğan congratulated President Abbas and the Palestinian people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, hoping that the aggression against the Palestinian people would stop and their hopes for freedom and independence would be fulfilled.

The Turkish President reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian people and their just cause in all international forums.

For his part, the Palestinian President wished President Erdoğan and the brotherly Turkish people "further progress and prosperity," appreciating "Turkey's supportive stances toward our people and our legitimate national rights," and underlining "the State of Palestine's commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation between the two brotherly countries and peoples."
