NNA - Israeli occupation forces launched a fresh wave of aerial attacks on the Gaza Strip after midnight, resuming the ongoing genocide after a two-month hiatus with widespread airstrikes that so far claimed the lives of at least 254 Palestinian civilians, including children and women.
The ongoing bombardment has resulted in at least 200 fatalities, with over 440 others injured, including women and children. Additionally, numerous people remain trapped under the rubble of targeted buildings.
According to local health sources, the initial toll indicates that the majority of those killed are in the southern Gaza Strip, with nearly 60 people reported killed. Among the injured are several women, children, and elderly people.
WAFA correspondents confirmed that at least five people, including two children, were killed and dozens more injured when Israeli forces targeted tents in the Mawasi Khan Younis area. The wounded were transported to the Kuwait Field Hospital, a local medical facility in the area.
Meanwhile, more than 15 people, including five children, were confirmed killed, and over 20 others injured in Gaza City as a result of the airstrikes, with the victims being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Additionally, dozens of injuries were reported at Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat area, central Gaza, where strikes hit homes in both the Nuseirat and Al-Bureij refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip.
At Al-Awda Hospital in Nussirat, health officials reported 14 fatalities, including children, following airstrikes on two tents in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Over 70 people were also injured, many of them critically, from shelling that targeted civilian homes in the area.
In the northern Gaza Strip, at least eight people, including six children, were killed in an Israeli attack that struck homes in the Jabalia refugee camp. Additionally, several people were injured during the assault on the camp's civilian areas.
Sources also reported the killing of several more people in Israeli airstrikes on two family homes in the Abasan al-Kabira area, located east of Khan Younis, as well as the bombing of tents in the Muwasi region west of the city.
Further casualties occurred when Israeli airstrikes targeted a school sheltering displaced families in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, in addition to the destruction of three homes in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood and other homes in both the Al-Bureij and Nuseirat refugee camps.
Rescue teams have faced significant challenges in reaching affected areas due to the ongoing barrage of airstrikes and artillery shelling from Israeli forces.
This latest wave of violence marks the resumption of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which had ceased for two months following the fragile ceasefire agreement.
The escalation comes amid growing fears over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region, compounded by Israel's ongoing blockade and disruption of essential medical and humanitarian supplies.--WAFA
