NNA - Jordan hosted a meeting of Syria's neighboring countries on Sunday, with the participation of Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, according to Sky News Arabia.
The meeting was held at the level of foreign and defense ministers, army commanders and intelligence directors.
At the end of the meeting, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said that "Syria's security and stability are an integral part of the stability of the region."
He continued, during a joint press conference: "The meeting confirmed the unified position to combat terrorism and ISIS, we support Syria in a way that achieves its security and stability."
The Jordanian Foreign Minister pointed out that "Israel is trying to create a state of chaos and pretexts to achieve its goals in the region."
For his part, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said: "It is important to open a Syrian dialogue that includes all components of the people to achieve stability."
He continued: "Fighting ISIS requires regional and international support, and Iraq's stability stems from Syria's stability."
In this context, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that his country condemns Israel's expansionist policies in Syria.
He continued: "We support all steps to save the lives of all Syrians, all components of the Syrian people must stay away from inciting strife."
Fidan added: "We continue to fight ISIS and our meeting aims to develop a plan that includes a joint operations room to confront terrorism."
In turn, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani said: "We are ready to continue working together for a better future for the region."
He continued: "We protect all components of the Syrian people and do not discriminate between them and will not allow the repetition of the tragedies of the Syrian people."
Al-Sheibani added: "The new Syrian government is the guarantor of civil peace, we will not allow any party to take the role of the state and anyone involved in violations will be referred to justice."
