NNA - The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) announced today that clashes broke out at the Banias power plant, west of the country. The agency said that clashes broke out with security forces at the plant after an attack by "remnants of the former regime".

The Ministry of Defense also confirmed that violent clashes had taken place in the Tartous countryside.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that the General Security Department is carrying out combing operations in the Qadmus area and the surrounding villages in Tartous to pursue supporters of the former regime.
