Occupation forces continue large-scale onslaught on Tulkarem and Its camps for the 36th consecutive day

NNA - The Israeli occupation continues its large-scale aggression against the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camp for the 36th consecutive day, and against Nur Shams camp for the 23rd day, amid escalating military reinforcements, forced displacement and home demolitions.

According to WAFA correspondent, Israeli forces deployed after midnight additional military reinforcements to the city and Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps. Troops patrolled streets and neighborhoods, firing live ammunition intensively, while explosions were heard in the Jabal Al-Nasr area of Nur Shams camp.

Israeli forces remain stationed along Nablus Street, which connects the two camps. They have seized residential buildings, particularly those facing Tulkarem camp, converting them into military outposts while deploying military vehicles and bulldozers in the area. The occupation forces have also restricted vehicle movement, subjecting passengers to searches, abuse and detentions.

The siege on Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps remains firmly in place, with Israeli forces enforcing a complete lockdown, barring both entry and exit. Infantry units have been strategically positioned throughout the camps, carrying out sweeping raids on homes, ransacking their contents and subjecting residents to interrogations. Entire families have been forcibly displaced, as troops unleash live ammunition and stun grenades in a calculated campaign of intimidation and terror.

Eyewitnesses reported that several families were ordered to leave their homes overnight, particularly in the area behind the school district in Nur Shams camp.

Israeli bulldozers continued demolishing homes in Nur Shams camp, enforcing prior demolition notices against 11 houses under the pretext of constructing a new road leading from the camp square to the al-Manshiyya neighborhood. The homes belong to several Palestinian families in the camp.

Over the past few days, the Nur Shams camp has witnessed an escalation of demolitions and arson targeting homes and businesses in multiple neighborhoods. The occupation’s measures have also caused widespread destruction of infrastructure, affecting electricity, water, sewage and communication networks.

According to the Popular Committee of Nur Shams Camp, the number of displaced residents forced from their homes has risen to approximately 9,000 people out of the camp’s 13,500 residents. Most of the evacuated neighborhoods and the camp center are now largely empty. The displaced have taken shelter in emergency centers, relatives' homes in the city and surrounding villages.

Meanwhile, in Tulkarem Camp, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces deployed infantry units throughout the camp’s streets, firing live rounds indiscriminately while blasting loud and provocative sounds alongside explosions to intimidate residents who remain in their homes on the outskirts of the camp.

Amid the ongoing blockade on the camps, residents continue to appeal for access to basic necessities, including food, water, medicine and baby formula. However, Israeli forces continue to obstruct and prevent relief teams from delivering essential supplies to those trapped inside the camps.

In a related development, Israeli forces stormed at dawn today the Shuweika neighborhood, north of Tulkarem, where they raided several homes and detained three citizens.

Yesterday, a young Palestinian man, who was identified as Amr Odeh, was injured after an Israeli military vehicle deliberately rammed his car while he was driving near al-Murabitun mosque, west of the city. He sustained bruises and wounds and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. His vehicle was also severely damaged.--WAFA
