NNA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Hamas can no longer enjoy aid supplies and a ceasefire, as was the case during the first phase of the agreement, without releasing the hostages, according to Sky News Arabia.
Netanyahu explained at the beginning of the weekly government meeting: "No more free food" in Gaza, adding that Hamas "has taken control of the aid entering the Strip and turned it into income, while mistreating civilians," according to the prime minister's statements highlighted by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
Netanyahu decided to stop the entry of aid into the Strip, with the expiration of the first phase of the Gaza agreement, which Israel seeks to extend, while Hamas insists on starting the second phase.
He added: "If Hamas does not release our hostages, there will be more consequences that I will not specify here."
Netanyahu's comments come as Israel and Hamas remain at an impasse over resuming a ceasefire.
