NNA - Egypt has announced plans to convene an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) following the upcoming Arab League emergency summit, scheduled to take place in Cairo on February 27.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has been holding consultations with the foreign ministers of several OIC member states regarding developments in the Palestinian issue.
The ministry noted that there is broad preliminary agreement on holding an emergency ministerial-level OIC meeting after the Arab summit to reaffirm the fundamental Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic positions on the Palestinian cause. The meeting will emphasize the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to self-determination and to live on their land.--agencies
