NNA - The Israeli Attorney General announced on Sunday that it had opened a criminal investigation against Sara Netanyahu, the wife of the Israeli Prime Minister, following accusations made against her by an opposition member of the Knesset, according to "Russia Today".

The Attorney General explained in a letter addressed to opposition member of the Knesset, Naama Lazmi, "A criminal investigation has been opened on suspicion of committing criminal offenses, and the Israeli police are conducting an investigation with the Cybercrimes Department of the Attorney General."

The Labor Party member accused Netanyahu's wife of trying to influence a witness in her husband's corruption trial.

Shortly after, Lazmi wrote on the X platform that "this report (...) is important for parliamentary oversight, the judicial system, and the rule of law."

She added: "I will not be silent, I will not back down, and I will not allow this case to be buried. Justice will be served, and we will ensure that it is done."
