NNA - President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas expressed his appreciation to Jordanian King Abdullah II, praising the firm and supportive positions adopted by the Kingdom towards the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
In his message, He expressed his deep appreciation for Jordan's firm position in supporting the survival and steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, and its categorical rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, stressing that this position is in line with international law and reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples.
He also appreciated the Jordanian monarch's warnings of the danger of escalation in the West Bank, and the ongoing Israeli violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The President also praised Jordan's ongoing efforts to secure the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and its effective contribution to supporting a sustainable ceasefire, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions they face.
He stressed that the Jordanian position reflects a historical commitment to the Palestinian cause, and supports Palestinian efforts to remain steadfast on the ground and confront any attempts to uproot the Palestinian people from their homeland. He also indicated his aspiration to continue joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace based on international legitimacy resolutions, in a way that guarantees security and stability for the entire region.
The President renewed his thanks to the Jordanian monarch, expressing his confidence in the continuation of Jordanian efforts in support of Palestinian rights, and stressing the importance of joint coordination to achieve Palestinian national goals, most notably the Palestinian Authority taking over the management of the Rafah crossing, in preparation for the State of Palestine to assume its duties in the Gaza Strip as an integral part of its territory. ----WAFA
