NNA - US President-elect Donald Trump's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said on Sunday that if Hamas backs out of the hostage deal and the ceasefire in Gaza, the United States will support Israel "in doing what it needs to do," according to Sky News Arabia.

He added in an interview with CBS: "Hamas will never rule Gaza. This is completely unacceptable."

Earlier, Waltz told Fox News that the incoming administration has made "very clear to the Israelis, and I want the people of Israel to hear me on this, if they need to go back to fighting, we are with them. If Hamas does not abide by the terms of this agreement, we are with them."
