NNA - Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed, on Saturday, “the resumption of indirect negotiations with Hamas in Qatar in order to release the hostages held in the Gaza Strip who were kidnapped during the movement’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023,” according to Agence France-Presse.

A statement issued by Katz's office said that he informed the parents of hostage Liri Elbag, of whom Hamas had previously published a video, "of ongoing efforts to release the hostages, including the Israeli delegation which headed on Friday to hold talks in Qatar," adding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave "precise directions to continue negotiations."
