NNA - Iran summoned the Saudi ambassador to Tehran on Wednesday to protest Riyadh's execution of six of its citizens convicted of drug smuggling, the Iranian foreign ministry said, according to AFP.

"The Saudi ambassador to Tehran has been summoned," the ministry said in a statement, noting that Iran had expressed its "strong protest" over Riyadh's actions, calling them "unacceptable" and a violation of "the rules and standards of international law."
