NNA - Iran will hold talks on its nuclear program with France, Germany and Britain on January 13 in Geneva, following previous discussions hosted by Switzerland in late November, according to the Iranian news agency "ISNA".
"ISNA" quoted Iranian diplomat Kazem Gharib Abadi, Tehran's envoy to the previous meeting in Geneva, as saying that the meeting will constitute "consultations, not negotiations".
The November meeting, held on the shores of Lake Geneva, was shrouded in secrecy.
The upcoming meeting comes a week before US President Donald Trump returns to the White House, who implemented a policy of "maximum pressure" on Iran during his first term (2017-2021).
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that his country is "ready for fair and honest negotiations" with the West.
He added, "In exchange for (lifting sanctions), we create more confidence in the peaceful nature of the Iranian nuclear program."
Araghchi stressed that "if the other side is not satisfied with this path, it is natural for us to follow our own path, as we have done in recent years."
In November, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States adopted a resolution condemning Iran for its lack of cooperation on the nuclear file, during a meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
