NNA - Damascus - Syria TV confirmed, quoting a "special source in the Syrian administration," that "the preparatory committee for the national conference scheduled to be held next week will be announced."

The source added that "the national conference is scheduled to be held on the 4th-5th of the first month of the new year," noting that "1,200 Syrian figures from inside and outside Syria will be invited on the level of individuals, not entities, and between 70-100 people from each governorate from all segments will be invited to the national conference."

The source said that "the People's Council, Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and all factions will be dissolved during the national conference scheduled to be held next week," noting that "a committee will emerge from the national conference to draft the constitution and form an advisory body for the interim president from various factions based on competence."

The source also indicated that "there are ideas to form a new government within a month of the national conference," and that "representatives of Syrian youth, women, religious men and representatives of civil society will participate in the national conference."
