NNA - Syrian Foreign Minister, Bassam Sabbagh, discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Ati the recent developments in northern Syria, especially in the Aleppo and Idlib governorates, according to "Russia Today".
During a phone call between the two ministers yesterday, Friday, they discussed the recent developments in northern Syria, especially in Idlib and Aleppo, where Abdel Ati listened to Sabbagh’s explanation and assessment of the successive recent developments there, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Abdel Ati expressed concern about the direction of these developments, stressing “Egypt’s position in support of the Syrian state and its national institutions and the importance of its role in achieving stability, combating terrorism, and extending the state’s sovereignty, stability, independence and territorial integrity.”
Earlier, the Syrian army announced that armed terrorist organizations have been launching a major attack since Wednesday on safe villages and towns in the southern countryside of Aleppo and Idlib.
