NNA - Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that "painful concessions" must be made to secure the return of hostages held in the Gaza Strip, noting that military operations alone will not achieve the war's goals.

Galant stressed during his participation in the annual commemoration according to the Hebrew calendar, of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, that "not all goals can be achieved through military operations alone...To fulfill our moral duty to return our hostages to their homes, we will have to make painful concessions."

Of the 251 people kidnapped during the attack, 97 hostages remain in Gaza, including 34 who the enemy army says have been killed, according to "Agence France-Presse".
