Iranian President: 'The free will never submit to arrogance'

NNA - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Hamas' office in Tehran this morning to extend his condolences following the martyrdom of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

During the visit, Pezeshkian met with Khaled Qaddoumi, Hamas's representative in Iran, and engaged in a dialogue with him.

Following his expression of condolences for Yahya Sinwar's martyrdom, the Iranian President delivered a pointed critique of governments and powers that advocate for human rights, democracy, and international laws. He argued that those who promote these ideals are often the same entities that violate them, particularly in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.

He emphasized that the United States and the West support "Israel" and supply it with weapons to commit brutal crimes against humanity while the world stands idle.

In this context, the Iranian President asserted that recent global events illustrate a trend where "forces of arrogance" are pursuing authoritarianism. He emphasized that free people will resist such impositions and will not yield to oppression. Pezeshkian further underscored that the ongoing war transcends the martyrdom of individual figures, framing it as a broader struggle for justice and the protection of human rights.

Commenting on how Iran would respond to a potential Israeli attack, he affirmed, "We will respond decisively to any Israeli attack in an appropriate and proportionate way."--agencies
