NNA - Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, where they discussed a ceasefire in Gaza and peace, the day after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, according to Agence France-Presse. 

Erdogan's office said that the officials discussed at the presidential palace “the massacres committed by Israel," and "the necessary steps to achieve a permanent ceasefire and peace.”

During the discussions with Abbas, Erdogan once again strongly criticized the silence of some Western countries regarding the very high death toll in Gaza, stressing that this matter was “unacceptable,” his office added.

He also said that all countries, especially countries of the Islamic world, must increase efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensure non-stop access of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.
