NNA - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said it would not participate in a new round of ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip scheduled for Thursday in Qatar, but an official familiar with the talks said the mediators were expected to consult with the movement afterward, according to "Reuters".

Hamas doubted the chances of achieving real results through the talks and blamed Israel for their faltering, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Yahya Sinwar, head of Hamas’ political bureau, is the main obstacle to reaching an agreement.

An informed source said that Hamas wants the mediators to return to it with a “serious response” from Israel. The Palestinian movement stated that it will meet with the mediators after Thursday's session if this happens.

An official familiar with the talks process said that the mediators are expected to consult with Hamas.
