NNA - Israeli anti-government protesters gathered in Jerusalem on Monday to call for new elections in an effort to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who once again leads one of the most extreme right-wing coalitions in Israel's history, Reuters reported.

The war government collapsed a week ago after the two former centrist generals, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, resigned.

Netanyahu is currently relying on far-right allies whose extremist agenda has caused a major rift in Israeli society even before the outbreak of war on October 7.

The almost weekly demonstrations have not yet resulted in a change in the political scene, and Netanyahu still has a stable majority in Parliament.
