NNA - Iran announced on Saturday that an Iranian who had been detained in Sweden since 2019 has been released, explaining that he would quickly return to his country, according to Agence France-Presse.
Secretary of the Iranian Human Rights Commission, Kazem Gharibabadi, said on the “X” platform, “Hamid Nouri, who has been illegally detained in Sweden since 2019, is free and will return within a few hours.”
Nouri was arrested in 2019 in Stockholm, and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Scandinavian country for his role in the mass executions of opponents ordered by Tehran in 1988.
