NNA – President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Friday affirmed his solidarity with Lebanon’s social and economic sectors during a visit to the Economic, Social and Environmental Council.

“This is the place—indeed the only place—where workers and employers meet with all the forces behind national production and the engines of our broad economy,” the president stated.

“I am the son of this land, rising from its roots, its soil, and the sweat of hardworking brows. With no complexes of any kind, and no pretensions of any sort, I need you—as I need every free Lebanese,” the President declared.

Aoun further pledged to defend the rights and responsibilities of all stakeholders, adding: “I am here today to commit to standing with you—to protect your rights and duties, and to take refuge in your opinions and ideas—so that together, we can achieve what is best for our people and our nation. For the good of humanity, in the homeland of humanity—Lebanon.”
