NNA - Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, on Wednesday criticized recent statements by Hezbollah officials rejecting the dismantling of the group's military and security wings. He recalled that it was the former government of Najib Mikati that unanimously approved the Security Arrangements Agreement on November 22, 2024.
The agreement, Geagea said, clearly mandates the dismantling of all military infrastructure not affiliated with the Lebanese Army or official security forces, and restricts all weaponry—“even light arms”—to those entities across Lebanon.
Geagea stressed that Lebanon's credibility must not be further undermined by backing away from the ceasefire agreement, and called on the current government to hold Hezbollah accountable to its prior commitments.
The LF leader’s remarks came during a ceremony for new Lebanese Forces members held at the party’s headquarters in Maarab.
