NNA - President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the country’s governors at Baabda Palace, in the presence of Interior Minister, Ahmad Hajar. The session focused on the conditions and needs of the governorates following the announcement of the date for municipal and mukhtar elections.  

Addressing the governors, President Aoun emphasized that “positions and titles are not ends in themselves, but means to achieve greater goals.”  

Aoun called on them to uphold the rule of law and combat corruption “without yielding to pressure and irrespective of sectarian, confessional, or political affiliations.”
