NNA - Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, on Thursday pointed out that “no one knows where we will reach in the war in the south,” stressing that “the government is conducting a major diplomatic effort to neutralize Lebanon, and until this moment we have not reached our goal.”
Minister Makary said in an interview with the “Beirut Program” on MTV channel: “I asked for a clear official position through correspondence with about 30 countries regarding the deliberate Israeli killing of journalists on Lebanese soil, and I received only 3 responses.”
The Minister pointed out that "the crisis that Lebanon went through undermined all state institutions, which forced the citizen to become accustomed to the alternative. This is a very bad situation and requires time to be resolved."
He also referred to continuous criticism about the performance of the caretaker government, saying: “We must work as a government to approve the necessary and urgent issues while maintaining a basic matter, which is avoiding making appointments."
In response to a question, Minister Makary said: “Those who oppose the nomination of former Minister Sleiman Franjieh should clearly propose their own candidate, and we believe that Frangieh is capable of finding solutions and it is not possible to have a president who is against Syria.”
