NNA - The Lebanese Army on Tuesday removed dirt barriers from several roads in border villages and began searching for landmines, unexploded ordnance, and other remnants of conflict. This paved the way for southern residents to return to their towns after more than a year of displacement, with celebrations marked by rice-throwing and ululations.
However, returning residents were met with widespread destruction, including ruined homes, bulldozed lands, and devastated infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Israeli enemy forces transported explosive materials to the town of Kfarchouba in preparation for a large detonation near the Samaka and Ruwaisat Al-Alam positions. Israeli drones also conducted low-altitude reconnaissance flights over the South, circling the skies above Mays El-Jabal, Aytaroun, Blida, Mhaibib, and Houla.
