NNA - The Army Command - Orientation Directorate issued the following statement:

"Based on the directives of President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun, the Army Command issued orders to the military units deployed on the northern and eastern borders to respond to the sources of fire launched from Syrian territory targeting Lebanese territory. These units began responding with appropriate weapons, in wake of recent clashes during which several Lebanese regions were subjected to shelling and gunfire."
