NNA -According to “Russia Today”, citing Israeli enemy media, the Israeli army said on Friday that it would not withdraw from southern Lebanon when the 60-day ceasefire deadline ends on Sunday. Channel 14 reported that Israel’s security cabinet confirmed the army would maintain its current deployment in southern Lebanon. 

Meanwhile, “Ynet” quoted Israeli government spokesman, David Mencer, saying Israel is unlikely to withdraw entirely and may stay in coordination with the Trump administration. 

Mencer acknowledged some progress with the Lebanese army and UNIFIL taking over Hezbollah positions but stressed that further work was needed.—agencies
