NNA - Clashes erupted Friday night between rival regions of Bab Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen in the northern city of Tripoli resulting in the injury of two citizens, Ahmad Nasser and Ali Qassem, according to a report by NNA field correspondent.


Machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades were among the weapons of choice in the violence which lasted till Saturday morning. Sniper activities continued to terrorize the highway between Tabbaneh, Abou Ali roundabout and Maloula localities. Passing through said regions was highly hazardous and unadvisable.


Units of the LAF deployed in the city and retaliated to all sources of fire.


Schools and universities in the vicinity of the clashes opted to take the day off instead of jeopardizing the lives of the staff and students.
