NNA - U.S. seismologists measured a 6.8 magnitude earthquake off the western coast of Mexico Saturday, with no immediate reports of damage or casualties, AFP said.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck in the Gulf of California at 1755 GMT and had a depth of about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles.)
It hit some 74 kilometers (46 miles) southwest of Etchoropo, Mexico.
U.S. officials from the Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that the quake did not create a risk of dangerous tidal waves.
