NNA – MP Milhem Jibran Tawk on Monday categorically denied issuing a statement calling on top officials to ensure security in Beirut on February 23 and urging the relocation of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s funeral from the Sports City Stadium to another venue in the southern suburbs.  

The alleged statement, which circulated on social media, claimed that Tawk had addressed President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and the Ministers of Defense and Interior, urging them to prevent any threats to stability and security in the capital. 

It also purportedly called on Beirut’s MPs and political figures to move the funeral ceremony to avoid potential unrest.  

However, "Fact Check Lebanon," a unit within the Ministry of Information, refuted these claims after contacting Tawk’s media office. 

“The statement is entirely false and was not issued by MP Milhem Tawk,” the fact-checking team confirmed, urging the public and media outlets to rely only on official communications from the MP’s official channels.
