NNA – Caretaker Minister of Education and Higher Education, Abbas Halabi, on Wednesday announced that following the ceasefire and the country's transition into a phase of calm, his ministry will continue to adapt its educational plans to the evolving situation on the ground.  

“With many teachers and parents inspecting the damage to their homes or returning to their areas, schools that had previously been designated as shelters are seeing families depart. These schools now require assessment for repairs to return to their educational function,” Halabi said in a statement. 

Minister Halabi then called for the resumption of in-person teaching, alongside remote learning, for private educational institutions and higher education institutions until the end of 2024. He confirmed that schools operating normally would continue as usual. 

“Official schools previously used for shelter or operating in two shifts will remain closed until the end of this week, resuming their educational duties on Monday. The Ministry has tasked its engineering unit with assessing school buildings and preparing necessary reports,” Halabi added.
