HORECA CONNECTS opens doors to foodservice, hospitality professionals

NNA - In presence of his Excellency the Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar, and under the theme “Building New Bridges,” Hospitality Services celebrated the launch of HORECA CONNECTS, the meeting place for foodservice and hospitality professionals, on March 22, 2022 at Seaside Pavilion, Beirut. Moreover, former minister Mohamed Choucair, former minister Freij Sabounjian, heads of syndicates and associations, ambassadors and heads of chambers of commerce and industry, as well as the press, all attended the inauguration.

“Building New Bridges” is HORECA CONNECTS’ theme for 2022, which defines the objective of the event: to provide a much-needed platform for hospitality professionals to reconnect and do business, particularly following the two-year intermittent lockdowns and escalating economic challenges.

A series of discussions and presentations will be taking place over the coming days to tackle hot topics and trending issues. The talks will also be live streamed on horecashow.com.

Visitors to HORECA CONNECTS will have the opportunity to discover 200 brands, including a range of locally produced goods and innovative concepts.

In his speech, his Excellency the Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar thanked the organizers of this event and praised the efforts made for its success. The minister revealed also that he sought the Ministry of Education’s approval to name the school of hospitality after of Nouhad Dammous to honor him.

“Reconnecting is vital to revive our economy, especially after the inevitable deadlock caused by the pandemic and its repercussions on all businesses. Through HORECA CONNECTS, we aim to bring together the industry and reconnect to start planning and lobbying for the good of the industry,” said Joumana Dammous Salamé, managing director of Hospitality Services, HORECA CONNECTS organizer.

Held concurrently with HORECA CONNECTS, Berytech’s Agri-Food Innovation Days 2022 will showcase dynamic agri-food corporations and startups, and feature a range of exciting products and services from the whole value chain. Furthermore, academics, innovators, investors, government, media and ecosystem partners will be offering their expertise at the event.

HORECA CONNECTS & AFID will:

• Introduce and present the latest, most innovative Lebanese products, solutions and services relating to the hospitality and foodservice sectors, providing alternatives to imported brands.

• Support exports and build market linkages between local suppliers and new/existing customers, connecting producers, industrialists and other local operators with Lebanese chefs, restaurateurs and distributors abroad.

• Promote Lebanese cuisine, Lebanese brands, restaurants and productive sectors, thus keeping Lebanon’s brand value high while highlighting local products, restaurants, chefs, food ambassadors and the people working hard to uphold Lebanon's reputation as a gastronomic hub.
