NNA – Agriculture Minister, Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, met Wednesday with the Regional Representative of FAO, Abdul-Hakim Al-Amer, on the sidelines of the ministerial sessions of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations for the Near East (FAO).

The meeting was a chance to discuss the situation in Lebanon and the need for joint cooperation to develop the agricultural sector and support small-scale farmers who are most affected by the economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, and the most needy in the agricultural areas of Lebanon.

In this context, Hajj Hassan presented the Agriculture Ministry's strategy and discussed the projects that will be implemented by the FAO, which the Ministry of Agriculture considers among its priorities in the plan to advance the sector.
