NNA - Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abiad, on Thursday announced at a joint press conference with the President of the Lebanese University, Dr. Bassam Badran, that two suspected cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been detected in Lebanon.
"The epidemiological surveillance program at the Ministry of Public Health has been tracking the two cases that are currently in full isolation since their arrival in Lebanon, and they are in good health and their symptoms are mild,” Minister Abiad explained, indicating that the two cases have arrived at Beirut airport coming from Africa.
On the other hand, Minister Abiad expressed his satisfaction with the response to the vaccination campaigns organized by the Ministry of Health, as the number of people who registered on the platform increased daily from five thousand to twenty-four thousand.
Minister Abiad urged everyone, both Lebanese and residents, to get vaccinated and intensively participate in the Pfizer Marathon, organized by the Ministry of Public Health, next Saturday and Sunday, December 11 and 12, to protect themselves and their families against COVID-19 and its variants.
