NNA - Members of Beirut Firefighting Department were able to put down the fire which erupted on one of the boats, named Espiridon, which harbored in Beirut Port on dock number 9, as mentioned by Beirut Firefighting Department.
The Department said that the incident was due to the burning of some insulation panels on the inside of the ship as a result of maintenance works and electric welding on board of the ship.
The members of Beirut Firefighting Department rushed to the place, were able to control the fire and extinguished it before reaching other parts of the ship , the Department said.
It added that cooling operations were currently going on board of the ship.
