Lebanese National Conservatory Upholds Academic Integrity in Lebanon’s New Era

NNA - The Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music Reaffirms the Importance of Upholding Academic Protocols in Inter-Institutional Cooperation In Pursuit of Its Educational and National Mission.

The Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, under the leadership of Dr. Hiba Al Kawas and its Board of Directors, reaffirms its role as the mother institution for nurturing musical talents in Lebanon. It has consistently supported sister academic and musical institutions, including universities and conservatories, while upholding the highest standards of excellence.

In its commitment to fostering sound academic collaboration, the Conservatory emphasizes that any participation or partnership between institutions must be governed by clear and formal agreements that protect the rights of all parties and safeguard the academic pathways of both students and professors.

Adherence to formal protocols is not merely a bureaucratic requirement; it is a fundamental expression of transparency and academic integrity, hallmarks of distinguished institutions.

It is with sincere regret that we have recently observed repeated attempts to exploit the achievements of our outstanding students by attributing their successes to other entities without proper acknowledgment, or by obscuring their affiliation with the Conservatory — actions that violate the principles of academic honesty and ethics.

Today, as Lebanon embarks on a new era with a newly elected President and government committed to combating corruption and promoting good governance, we stand at a pivotal national crossroads.

The world is watching how Lebanon will rebuild its official institutions and restore their prestige. In this context, safeguarding the standing of the Conservatory — as an official national academic institution — is a moral and national duty, inseparable from the broader mission of building a renewed Lebanon.

Any erosion of the dignity of official institutions, no matter how minor it may seem, undermines the very essence of the national project we all aspire to fulfill.

In line with our academic and legal responsibilities, the Conservatory enforces its internal regulations, which oblige us to protect the institution’s rights, maintain the academic identity of our students, and take all necessary measures to ensure full compliance with established standards.

This commitment extends beyond our internal regulations to a broader respect for internationally recognized academic norms, which require institutions to protect the academic affiliations of their students, and call upon all parties to honor these principles in practice — preserving the integrity of academic work and ensuring fairness across institutions.

The Conservatory remains open to every collaborative initiative built on respect for proper protocols and mutual recognition, always with a singular goal:

To build a refined, thriving musical community where partnerships are a sign of cultural growth and institutional respect, not a pathway to disorder or disregard.
