NNA  – The Commander of UNIFIL’s Sector West, Brigadier General Nicola Mandolesi, met today for the first time with the Mayor of Burj Rahhal, Hassan Hammoud. The meeting took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, marking an initial opportunity for mutual acquaintance between the two officials.

 During the discussion, Mayor Hammoud expressed his appreciation for the work carried out by UNIFIL, with particular praise for the Italian contingent. He highlighted the longstanding and positive relationship with UNIFIL and acknowledged the commitment of the peacekeepers in supporting the local population.

 Brigadier General Mandolesi reaffirmed UNIFIL’s full support and ongoing cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces in achieving key common objectives. He also extended his best wishes to the young people of Lebanon, emphasizing that a secure environment is essential for building a stable and promising future.

 The meeting is part of UNIFIL’s broader efforts to maintain open dialogue and cooperation with local authorities and communities.
