NNA - The Ministry of Public Works and Transport said on Monday that its teams were actively clearing snow and reopening roads across various Lebanese regions, particularly in mountainous areas affected by the accumulation of snow due to Storm "Adam."
According to the latest updates, Dahr al-Baydar highway is now open to all vehicles, as are Zgharta–Ehden road and internal roads within the district. Additionally, all roads in the Tannourine area are accessible, except for the Tannourine–Tannourine Cedar Reserve–Hadath El Jebbeh route, which remains restricted to four-wheel-drive vehicles. Authorities anticipate full clearance by this afternoon or early tomorrow.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to clear the Hermel–Qobayat road to restore traffic flow. However, several other high-altitude routes, including Ainata–Cedars, Al-Maasser–Kfardebian, and Hermel–Dannieh, are expected to remain closed until spring, as is customary each year.
The ministry has urged citizens to exercise caution when driving in mountainous areas, adhere to road safety guidelines, and ensure their vehicles are equipped with the necessary winter gear.
