NNA - Within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, held a joint work meeting at the ministry’s headquarters, with a delegation from the organization, headed by ACSAD Director General Dr. Naser Eddin Al Obaid, with the participation of a number of officials and experts from both sides.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech by Minister Hajj Hassan, who stressed “the importance of the strategic partnership between the Ministry and ACSAD,” hailing “the vital role played by ACSAD in supporting the Lebanese agricultural sector and enhancing joint Arab action in this field.”

The Minister also highlighted the "importance of enhancing agricultural cooperation within the framework of the current challenges facing the agricultural sector in Lebanon."

For his part, Dr. Naser Eddin Al-Obeid stressed in his word  the “priority of enhancing food security in the region,” expressing  ACSAD’s full support for  the Ministry of Agriculture’s projects, and affirming “the organization’s commitment to contributing to the rehabilitation of agricultural lands damaged by the recent Israeli aggression on Lebanon.”

Discussions during the meeting reportedly touched on ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides, focusing on developing joint projects that contribute to the advancement of the Lebanese agricultural sector.

The meeting concluded with affirming the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture and ACSAD to working together to support Lebanese farmers and developing the agricultural sector in a way that contributes to achieving food security and sustainable development in Lebanon.
