NNA - A Pakistani plane carrying aid, relief and medical supplies to Lebanon landed this afternoon at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut. The plane was received at the airport by MPs Fadi Alameh and Bilal Abdallah, Pakistan's Ambassador to Lebanon Salman Atahari and Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Committee Major General Mohammad Khair.

Today's aid plane is the second to carry aid to Lebanon and is related to food and living necessities for shelter centers, with about 500 tons of aid expected to arrive from Pakistan this week.

The MPs expressed gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for the assistance provided to Lebanon, which stands as "evidence of the depth of relations between Lebanon and Pakistan, hoping that Lebanon will stand by Pakistan in times of need.”

In turn, the Pakistani Ambassador said, “The government and people of Pakistan will continue to stand by their Lebanese brethrens during these difficult times,” stressing “Pakistan’s full support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right of the Lebanese people to live in peace and security.”

To date, two aid planes carrying 117 tons of relief aid from Pakistan have arrived in Lebanon, and more aid is expected to arrive in the coming days.
