NNA - Former minister and deputy Walid Jumblatt received today a reply cable from the Vatican State, thanking him on behalf of Pope Francis for the condolences he offered on the passing of Pope Benedict XVI.

The cable sent by Monsignor Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Undersecretary for Public Affairs at the Vatican Secretariat of State, expressed appreciation to Jumblatt in the name of Pope Francis, for his sincere feelings of condolences on the death of Pope Benedict XVI, recalling the generous service rendered by the late Pontiff to the Church and humanity.
